20 of 21 people found the following review helpful. A classic work available again By Harold McFarland In 1855 Franz Delitzsch published his original "System of Biblical Psychology". In 1861 he published a second, updated edition, and in 1866 it was translated from the German to English. This particular translation was first published in 1899 and this is the newest printing of that publication. From the beginning the reader must understand the word psychology as it is used within the work. Franz Delitzsch takes the position that the Bible provides an exhaustive examination of human nature. Throughout the stories, wisdom, and poetry is an account of human nature and how human act and react in various situations. With that in mind, an examination of the Bible shows a well-defined system of psychology, a complete treatise on human nature. As such, a study of Biblical psychology should have as its purpose to "bring out the views of Scripture regarding the nature, the life and life-destinies of the soul, as they are determined in the history of salvation".Franz Delitzsch thoroughly examines this relationship between man and God, man and self, and man and his fellow man as viewed through the lens of the Bible. Major headings include pre-existence, creation, the fall, man's natural condition, the regeneration, death, and resurrection and consummation. The section on man's natural condition is particularly interesting. In it he discusses the personality, the soul, the powers of the soul, development of the threefold life, soul and blood, heart and head, health and sickness, natural and demoniacal sickness, and superstition and magic.After each section Dr. Delitzsch included an appendix with appropriate information for that section. This is a nice touch as it provides the related information at the point in the book where it was studied. If you want to understand Biblical psychology as it was understood in the late 1800s you can't go wrong with this book. In a single volume it presents the complete understanding of the main-line theologians of the time and forms a solid basis for a historical study of Biblical psychology. This is a very highly recommended book for anyone interested in this area of study.

Skinner The version by General Books looks like a computer ocr output which has not been edited. The first page has a number of typos in the first few lines. Many paragraphs start with a sentence fragment, suggesting that some text was lost.I will be returning this book.I suggest others look for a different version.

My favorite was The Secret. I loved the idea of an off the grid town like the Gulch. However, all the stores in the book are enjoyable and make for wonderful afternoon reads. If you're looking for a way to escape the heat this summer, grab a cold drink and curl up with these stories.

They're all set in different locations, from Scotland to Canada, but all the stories have a great flavor and just enough to keep you going. I particularly liked Mayhew in Scotland, but I enjoyed all the stories.

Matt Towery gives insights on just reading the daily news and following some public opinion surveys to assist in growing your personal wealth. The author cites great examples of following the news and then determining whether to get in, or out, of the stock market. I found it particularly interesting that he recommends watching the Michigan Consumer Sentiment Index, readily available via a web search, as a consistent barometer of economic trends. He has used this barometer, for example, to accurately predict economic events that occur months later! But I don't want to give everything away. By Cynthia Studdard The most important aspect of Newsvesting for me is the process the book creates. I don’t think it will be easy at first but I plan to give it a try. If you don’t know technical stock market terms, then there may be a few places where you get lost like I did. But those areas are few and I Googled the terms I was not familiar with. I would say that this is certainly something new and unique. But I will give it a try.

I got my copy recently and it is a quick read. I was shocked at how on target it was, even to have been written earlier this year. His analysis of why one should invest in defense stocks was right on target and I had ignored them. Just since I bought the book the defense and military related stocks he mentioned have gone straight up. Same for the analysis of almost every area of the market. The book does not predict things as much as it tells you how to look for opportunities long before they develop. A must read for people who want to really understand how to profit in the market.

She decides the reason he did is because he found out that she has magic. She hopes her friend Nikki still has Wynter's book so she can take away her magic. But when she learns Nikki destroyed that book, Ronnie turns to Wynter for help. Will Wynter help Ronnie with what she desires? Will Ronnie get John back and is her having magic the true reason John ended things? Find out in this wonderful short story!

Thompson knows how to draw a reader in, even for just a small amount of pages, and have them begging for more! Ronnie, a fun character in the Saga, is a Chickcharney (trying saying that 3 times fast), which is pretty much an owl shifter. While Ronnie obviously is very self conscious and hard on herself for not "being normal", which doesn't help when her boyfriend John breaks up with her for no reason. This is going to make any girl, magical or not, question everything about herself.Ronnie tries to discover more about her kind and more importantly, how to get rid of her magic. Though some would disagree with Ronnie's action on trying to get rid of her magic for love, it shows the lengths anyone would go through for matters of the heart. Which, is what makes Ronnie a believable main character, as she makes mistakes.Miss Thompson completely wraps us up in another one of her tales as we go through Ronnie's struggles with John and herself. I found myself completely charmed by the end. It was a great read as always and I cannot wait to read more!

She loves him so much that she is willing to do the unthinkable....sorry, no spoilers here. This short read written by K.R. Thompson was truly an enjoyable read as I quickly found myself engrossed by this magical world of assorted shifters and beings. This story was beautifully detailed and left you wanting more. The only thing I didn't like was that it was over far to quickly but it is a novella and I'll soon discover more when I begin to read The Keeper Saga.

About the Author Often called the father of science fiction, British author Herbert George (H. G.) Wells literary works are notable for being some of the first titles of the science fiction genre, and include such famed titles as The Time Machine, The War of the Worlds, The Island of Doctor Moreau, and The Invisible Man. Despite being fixedly associated with science fiction, Wells wrote extensively in other genres and on many subjects, including history, society and politics, and was heavily influenced by Darwinism. His first book, Anticipations of the Reaction of Mechanical and Scientific Progress Upon Human Life and Thought, offered predictions about what technology and society would look like in the year 2000, many of which have proven accurate. Wells went on to pen over fifty novels, numerous non-fiction books, and dozens of short stories. His legacy has had an overwhelming influence on science fiction, popular culture, and even on technological and scientific innovation. Wells died in 1946 at the age of 79.

It is a great story and shows true to life human charcters, some very unlikeable and others with unexpected qualities. A very good story.

But shipping made it not worth it - considering it's pretty much just a bound photo copy. There aren't ANY translations or footnotes or explinations in English. Which I did not expect. But it made for very difficult following along in my 2000 level French class.If you're new to French, I recommend going with other versions.

An essential book on the issue of private revelations By RC Kevin Symonds has written a valuable guide to the topic of apparitions, locutions, and other private revelations. It deals with the Church's procedures for discerning claims of supernatural messages, and it indicates how the faithful should respond to such claims and respond to the Church's decisions about them. The book steers clear of describing any particular instances of claimed apparitions or messages, in order to give more attention to the general principles that guide the faithful. A helpful and informative book.

Nice feature that it is a book of short stories, which means you can read them in any order, you don't have to read the book cover to cover. Some of the stories are short and to the point, while others take a little more time to get there. But they are all written in a way that you understand what is happening, the characters are developed so you know who is who, and you cannot wait to read what is going to happen next. Some of the stories leave you wanting more. You finish a story and think, "What happens next...when is the sequel coming out? I've got to hear the rest of this!!" Then other stories leave you saying "Never saw that coming!" Loved this book cover to cover, and I cannot wait to read more stories.
