Reeling from the death of his girlfriend, Jim is offered the use of a remote cabin in the Great Lakes Region. The cabin is the property of his "in-laws". Although he never married Janie, he is in true pain after her sudden death. And, he is most close to the Anderson family (Sarah, Katherine and Frank) - thus, the name "in-laws". So, his trek to the cabin begins and hopefully his healing will start. Frank has a few secrets at this cabin for Jim to learn. The date is September 2015 and shortly after his arrival he learns some type of pandemic has hit LA. The belief is that a vaccine will be readily available.This is a story of guilt, pain, love and eventual healing. There is a gamut of emotions displayed in this story. The addition of Claire and Justin to the small group certainly "spices" things up! We just never know what others are capable of when push comes to shove.Found it to be an interesting read with the characters defined well. Interesting plot and also a different type of the infected roaming around the area. Minimal errors in the book - the most frequent being that of the spelling of the Anderson's name. Still not sure if it is Andersen or Anderson! I did not deduct a star for this, however.Well done to this author for a well written book. Another one on the horizon?Highly recommended.

It has it all: action, romance, characters you can relate to. A well-thought out story about people finding themselves in a shtf situation and how they handle it. A good read!
