These are dark, complex and one or two are terrifying. This, I believe, the last anthology published prior to her passing from breast cancer in May 2015. I've been a fan of Tanith Lee since I read THE BIRTHGRAVE long ago when I was 20 years old soon after it was published. I have most of her books, including those not published in the US.Tanith Lee has a voice reminiscent of Jack Vance. She writes in many different genres including erotic vampire, homosexual, hard scifi, Indian (the subcontinent), alternate reality, alternate universe and so many others. If you're not interested in mermaids and water universes, try another of her works.
