About the Author Jeffrey E. Whether you are taking this online or in class, I would recommend getting the tangible book, even if your " course key" includes an ebook. For me, mainly because it was online, Finance was a challenge. It is the next level of Accounting and will require your full attention and use of all the resources provided to you. Some of the examples were difficult to follow, that is, how the writer came to certain conclusions or solutions, so I had to reread often to understand the material. The rental version did not include an access code so I had to buy that separately, and the only option there was automatically came with the ebook. It was expensive so I used my credit card in order to make payments, but I would recommend this in addition to an included ebook or just the access code if finance does not come naturally to you.

He talks about some positive behavior we need to show to others that are necessary to influence or persuade. The author tells you the right approach to gain confidence and convince people. It is a great book for people in leadership position. Other things I like with this book is how it talks about subconscious mind; how people can positively use their subconscious in productive ways.

It has a lot of good tips, such as positive affirmations, body language, and exercises that help improve the impression you give people. These are all presented in bullet-point format, which makes it easy to read. The argument is that the more positive and charismatic you appear, the more people will be drawn to you, and the more likely you will be able to influence them. That's only part of the equation. In order to influence people, you need to be able to generate ideas and come up with plans to make them work. This book doesn't cover that. Still, it is a good read for those looking for ways to boost their self confidence.

Winn This was an interesting read that will take readers into a bit of dementia as Aaron Shelly Wanton goes on a downward spiral. A poet with an obsession with the moon, Aaron soon finds his world unraveling when he finds out more about the moon and its influence on him than he bargained for. The author did a great job creating an atmosphere readers won't soon forget. You will have the pictures the author creates with you long after you finished the last page. I found the author's writing style drags readers into the story and then hang on for a read that might keep you awake at night, or outside staring at the moon with dread in your heart.

That whatever storms we face in life, that He is our ballast in our ship, our strong anchor and He is our lighthouse, and that there is nothing to fear. She bares her soul giving as much detail as possible which can be best understood only by those on a similar journey By Alice Safarians I purchased the Kindle version and as I started reading it, was unable to stop; getting up early the next morning to read the remaining few chapters. While the subject matter deals with a serious and heartbreaking topic of advanced cancer, the book had a number of humorous segments and on balance was quite uplifting.The tone is conversational as the author takes us on a journey from her early years in South Africa, to her travels with her identical triplet sister, to the present and her current residence, with her loving husband, in Croydon England. She then chronicles in detail her diagnosis of cancer, surgeries and treatments with different medical teams. She bares her soul giving as much detail as possible which can be best understood only by those on a similar journey, almost anticipating all possible questions. On my part, I was amazed by her steely inner strength; her sense of humour and humility; her unwavering faith in God; and her optimism on life and its blessings as well as after-life.I hope Jose’s message reaches to all those in need of encouragement, as she dares us all to Believe.

About the Author About the Author. Ruth Hartzler's father was from generations of what people refer to as "Closed Open" or "Gospel Hall" Brethren. Ruth's mother, a Southern Baptist, had years of struggle adapting to the cultural differences, and always cut her hair, which was a continual concern to Ruth's father's family. Ruth was raised strictly Brethren and from birth attended three meetings every Sunday at the Gospel Hall, the Wednesday night meeting, and the yearly "Conference," until she left the Brethren at the age of twenty one. Ruth still has close friends in the Brethren, as well as the Amish, both groups descending from Anabaptists. Ruth's family had electricity, but not television, radio, or magazines, and they had plain cars. Make up, bright or fashionable clothes, and hair cutting were not permitted for women. Women had to wear hats in meetings (what others would call church meetings) but not elsewhere. The word "church" was never used and there were no bishops or ministers. All baptized men were able to speak (preach, or give out a hymn) spontaneously at meetings. Musical instruments were forbidden, with the exception of the traditional pump organ which was allowed only if played in the home for hymn music. Even so, singing of hymns in accompaniment was forbidden. Ruth Hartzler is a widow with one adult child and two grandchildren. She lives alone with her Yorkshire Terrier and two cats. She is a retired middle school teacher and enjoys quilting, reading, and writing.

Though my only complaint would be that I wish it was a bit longer, as I really enjoyed the short time I got to spend with the characters.

A Man's Tale By Jodi I was given a copy of "Rift Wind" book five in the Wind Drifter series, by one of my favorite Christian authors, Guy Stanton III, in exchange for an honest review. First let me say that this series is definitely more geared toward male readers. It's a western/sci-fi/dystopian told in the first person by a rough and ready thirty something guy. There is fighting, hand to hand and space ships, hot girls, and a lot of tough talking, as well as a Christian message (I know, but it does work!) Good fiction. Not one of my favorites of the series, but it rounds everything out very well and I liked it. There are quite a few grammar and proofreading errors (like run on sentences) so if that type of thing bothers you, be warned. Most of the time I can read over those things if the story is good enough and with Guy's writing it doesn't bother me so much. In this one I have to subtract a star, just because even I got distracted by the frequency. I give this book three stars. I can recommend for ages 16 and up due to adult content.

An Out and Out Science Fiction Dipped in a Bucket Load of Hope and Faith By Ana B The latest book from the Wind drifter series is a great deviation from the pseudo western form of the other books. It is an out and out science fiction adventure with the battle of good versus bad thrown in the midst. This book compared to other ones by the author is a bit more mature in its content but nothing explicit since it is a Guy Stanton book after all. It starts with the basic point of purpose versus survival. It is a science fiction in every way but the fiction hardly seems fictitious if we think about it. The story contains interesting phases that need time to sink in. Captain Siringo’s revelation of hope: dreaming of green grass beneath his feet; Lathartha’s redemption and return of purpose, Randelon’s upheaval from the crazy nerd to the man working miracles to the Ralinda’s witness of faith. The story of action, battle, science and exploration is literally bathed in spiritual anecdotes like each and every one of the author’s stories. Compared to the previous books the science fiction aspect of it is too much with special thanks to Randelon, the super-nerd who fleets through the warped space through hyperdrive, the building of the gateway powered by the electromagnetic conductivity of vacuum, time travel and AI like it is an everyday brawl on the street. Then there is the ever persisting battle between God and Evil, Hope and Despair. The fast pace and the scientific jargon sometimes does distract from the storytelling and there are a few proofing errors but for a Guy Stanton fan it is hardly an issue. The one thing I found lacking in this story is perhaps a relatable character which are generally present in all of the author’s books but perhaps that is the alien part of it is all about. After all it is about a group of people separated from civilization for two centuries. Nonetheless a good read for science fiction lovers.

Can the enemy be stopped. Find out in Rift Wind.Rift Wind like the rest of books in this series are all based on faith in God. I find that I don't mind references about faith and God the way they are presented in this series. The characters are real, humble, honest, compelling, and down to earth. The story is bold, unique, compelling, and honest. I look forward to more work done by this author in the future.

It's OK to tell the truth By Northwest Reader Why, O Why do authors continue to peddle Chief Seattle's Speech as authentic when it has been proven to be a much later embellishment and fiction? O'Connell admits that there is "controversy" about the speech but claims most Native Americans and "many experts" cite it as authentic. Well, of course Native Americans would like the polished environmental litany of woes to be "authentic" but it is most certainly not. Even O'Connell cites A. Furtwangler in admitting that some disagree. Problem is, Furtwangler completely refutes any notion that the speech that has come down to us today even remotely came from Sealth's mouth. Why would a Seattle Chief--on the salt water, 1000 miles away from the plains--talk about buffalo? And why, in the 1850s, would ANYONE talk about the buffalo herds as if they were endangered? (there were plenty of them then). No, the core of Sealth's (Seattle's) speech is in there, but it is like a grain of sand around which the oyster of the environmental movement has accreted around it to form a pearl.It is laughable to quote Native Americans to support Seattle's words, no more relevant than asking the descendants of Thomas Jefferson if Jefferson was a "good President." Native peoples of the Northwest had enough positives going on without having to invent things. We in this country need to start thinking in a more mature way: instead of the old "white man bad, Indian good" mantra of the 60s and 70s, or the reverse of 125 years ago, we need to start evaluating thought on its own merits. White and Native culture had both good and bad elements to them. It is good that we have started facing the truth of how indigenous peoples were treated in the 19th-century and later; but it's also OK to admit that Native cultures were strongly gender bound, and without the white man's unintentional gift of the horse, the mobility of the Native culture is closer to drudgery than romantic.
