The book starts just before our h is attacked. Yes, the attack is written about- but in general terms, and then as the book progresses- there are flashback statements that provide detail. I am NOT diminishing what happens to her or say that it is not described- if you are sensitive- I would not read. I just mean, that in comparison to many other books out there- I personally did not find this to be a 'dark' book. And I am happy about that. Our H, Jamie is a police officer, who meets our h almost right away. There is an insta-connection on some level. By that I just mean he is drawn to her, feels protective- I love that in a H. The book does not have them jumping into bed right away or anything- she has to recover. I love that he is steadfast and strong. Lucy also has a great sister.

By Book Worm The first three chapters of this book wereport BRILLIANTLY and heartwrenchingly written. After that it was just unrealistic and disappointing. It was as if the author wrote the first three chapters and wasn't sure where to go so she rushed the rest of the story.This book has SO much potential. I hope Adams does a re-write of this story; with better research into the recovery of rape survivors and lengthens the story. The first three chapters were the best I've read in years.
