Her creativity is amazing. As I finished the first chapter, I thought the main character, Candy Jane, had been dreaming. But no, it's the writer's creative tale during the year 2099. It's a story of a young girl disliked by her mother. As her father and mother get into a fight while driving, Candy Jane escapes with no harm, but her mother is stabbed to death and her father is arrested for the murder of his wife. Her father is found guilty and will be hung, but no one knows when this will happen. So Candy is to live with Madam Blue Cake, in a beautiful home where all her colorful wigs are displayed on a shelf. Candy sees a book on a shelf and is drawn to it. It has photos of her mom and and discovers it's the history of the Cake holocaust when her mother was the first to run away ... changing her life and name. This is a very creative story, however, it begins with a harsh, negative view of a crime scene involving an abusive, alcoholic mother. It quickly changes its genre to fantasy and discovery. The writing is very well done for an author of this age but the story line is really not easy to follow and becomes a little confusing. It also resembles science fiction with 2099 technology of E125 which reveals status of mind, heart, and body. It's more like scattered nightmares and make-believe visions. This young future author certainly is creative but spreads it out in a confusing manner. Writing should start with something simple and positive. As confidnce grows in a young author, a favorite genre will be pursued. Till then I hope Alishah keeps reading and analyzing style and technique. One day, she'll hit her mark!Tips: 1) Study proper grammar and punctuation; i.e. "Blue Book of Grammar and Punctuation" by Jane Straus. 2) Also, study guides to writing techniques, i.e. "The Marshall Plan For Novel Writing, A 16-Step Learning Program" by Evan Marshall. 3) Keep a notebook handy and write down your ideas and plots. 4) Keep reading. Find your favorite author and learn his techniques.

I wasn’t sure if the book needed editing or if the author, an 11 year old girl wrote it that way, reflecting the craziness of 2099. It’s a weird reality for sure with a drug addict mother who throws herself out of the family car and a father who is not that much better and is awaiting execution for her death in this story told by the protagonist, Candy Jane, where the word love is now irrelevant and is several generations into the future. Hacking into her father’s status she finds he is now E125, a new technology piece to check status of mind, heart and body and she was able to look back into his old day memories back when he was 20. That’s a nice trick. It was a fun although disturbing read like nothing I’ve read before.

But this book "A Day of Myself" abaut a girl Candy Jane and her family captivated me from the first page. I did not notice how quickly read the story. But when at the and of the book, I learned that it is story of a little girl Alishah, I was completely shocked! I put 4 stars only because the story was too short for me (39 pages), but really liked it! I look forward to the next story from the author. Alishah you're the best!
