By Cher Barlow Just got through reading this book and I must say, this was one hell of ride for Kari. She is a successful woman and she is almost able to reach her goal with the help of Klaus. However, things were rocked by her husband's son - Jakob.The author was able to create pleasant twists in the story. The character development were also awesome since I was able to relate to Kari and her decisions. The story flowed out nicely and the ending was unexpected. If you are into this genre, you will surely like this.

She got married to a wealthy old German for the sake of her dream since she cannot afford to go to Europe to express her talent in fashion. However, her unfaithfulness began to show when she met her husband’s son, Jakob. It was indeed a prodigious book since this can be based on a real life story. More exciting scenarios when you read the book and not to mention the erotic part of it. Love it!

By pvlimbaugh I originally wrote this review for Horror Novel Reviews.com I gave this book a 4.5 stars out of 5.Truly, I don’t think I would’ve picked up this book to read if it wasn’t given to me; sadly that would have been a great mistake on my part. It’s odd, I once wrote a piece for Greyhart Press about not judging books by their cover, and yet that’s what I am guilty of. I’m not sure what I expected, but I can say I was totally blown away once I began reading! I do want to add, as I don’t want to discredit the artwork; the cover makes sense once you know what’s inside. Perhaps it’s the kid in me always looking for the bright, shiny packaging that at first I didn’t appreciate the cover.First off, the book is done in two parts, Side A and Side B. Berti Walker is the contributor to the A side and Alex S. Johnson the flip side. Both sides contain short stories.So let’s start with Berti Walker, she begins her side with a twisted verse titled Snow White and the Seven Pervs, which reminded me of the “dirty” limericks we all heard as kids; a bit of fun before being hit with the true depth of her story telling. Stories like Lagoon, It’s Not What You Think! and The Autistic Avenger bring on dawning horror only to make you realize how heart wrenchingly sad they really are. Quickborn, Zombie Apocalypse Anonymous, Terminated, Harvest Day, and Better than Altamont are a bit more whimsical, the kind of stories that have you asking, Whaaat? And then, we have the nasty horror, you know the ones that makeup nightmares. The Monster Within, The Big Apple, Happy Accidents, and Castigation will surely make you squirm!Now to the B side. Back in the days of 45s (does anyone remember those little vinyl records?) the B side was always the less popular song. Not so, in this case. The B side here is filled with more stories of a different writing style. Alex S. Johnson’s stories delve more into the seedier side of horror.Alex runs the full gamut here, from waxing esoteric with the likes of Nightmare in a Glass Eye, Dogs of the Future, and The Universal Retina, to the utterly bizarre as in Deatherz, Beyond the Wall of Gore, and Biodom. To borrow a line from The Mister Chompers Massacre, I have to ask-“Dude. What. The. F**k?” You’ll also be asking that question after reading The Bride of Freakenstein, The Bizarrely Departed, and The Soft Detectives. Wickedly nasty are Godhammer and Smoking Hotties. And, to wrap everything up, Johnson ends with Ghastly Funeral Theater, a surreal look of hostessing in Japan.Would I recommend this book to everyone, probably not. Those who flinch at profanity may not appreciate all of the stories. But for the rest of you who are looking for something a little out of your norm, I say yes! Pick up a copy here, for this really is some F**ked Up Sh*t!

By West Reanimated Fun, sick, twisted, and full of manner of nasties.Stories are short and fast and disturbing (read disturbed), which is just what I wanted from this collection. Side A by Berti Walker and Side B by Alex Johnson are a great mix. If you don't like one, you'll likely dislike the other just as much, so if you're not looking for some bizarre and twisted stuff, look elsewhere.I can't wait to pick up some of both writers' longer works.Thanks for the fun!

Johnson is a Master of the pen, and writes dark perversions never before imagined. The content of this book will leave you with a grin or a smirk. Because you thought something that was in poor taste, was made funny and your almost ashamed you enjoyed this book so much. This was the first I read of Berti Walker, and it wont' be the last. The woman has a talent for the bizarre, thus making her an excellent choice of a co-author for this work. Now I am going to have to read her other books, like: Alice in Wonderlust. After reading these f***ed up tales by Berti Walker, I can't wait to read to her other works.

Very basic. Nothing earth shattering, although it is definitely doable advice for someone new to the concept of making a living via the internet. What lets the book down very badly is the lack of professional proof reading and copy editing. There are numerous errors in the copy that could have been picked up and corrected by a halfway decent editor.This flies in the face of much of the advice Chris Karlas repeats constantly: always provide your audience with the highest possible content.Also, throughout the book, the author repeatedly directs readers to his website to see and use "links" to products and resources he recommends. These are all Affiliate Links which pay him a percentage for every purchase he creates. It did seem that the entire book is nothing more than a funnel, filtering gullible readers to his affiliate products to garner sales. A reasonable concept I suppose, considering the entire subject of the book to aimed at explaining how to make money online.

I hadn't expected to laugh and cry as much as I did while I read it. Over the years, I've become calloused to religious "how-to" books, but Roy Ice really pierced my heart with this one. The book did just what it promised--it gave me 12 concrete ways to connect with God.The chapters are fairly short, but my kids (young 20-somethings) actually said that they appreciated that more.My only frustration is that this appears to be the only book available by Roy Ice. I've emailed him to see if he has more books coming soon. Hope so.Highly recommend!

I wouldn't have picked up a romance about a sea-faring princess if I weren't already familiar with the author's style. She always surprises, not just with engaging characters and believable but still surprising plot twists, but also creating likeable stories in genres I didn't imagine liking. This was no exception, so you should read it whether or not you think it sounds like your kind of thing!

And as the water of Baptism was poured over his head, the woman who held him saw a brilliant star shining on his forehead. During a vision of Sts. Peter and Paul, St. Dominic received the commission, "Go and preach, for to this ministry thou art called," which was a prophecy regarding the order St. Dominic would found - the Order of Preachers, or the Dominicans, an order which was to attract 5,000 priests and 2,000 other clerics and lay brothers within just 35 years after the Founder's death. Drawn by a supernatural attraction, people flocked after him, eager to hear his words, and they even embraced with joy the penance he preached. The miracles and influence of St. Dominic were felt by all who knew him. He once saved 40 English pilgrims whose boat had overturned and sunk beneath the waters and were presumed gone. He raised to life a young man named Napoleon who had been horribly mangled in a fall from a horse. In his battle with the Albigensian heretics, his writings were twice submitted to the test of fire, and both times emerged unscathed. And it was in great part under St. Dominic's inspiration and through the Rosary, which he preached, that Count Simon De Montfort won the Battle of Muret with only 800 cavalry, routing an Albigensian army of 100,000; the Christians suffered a loss of just eight, while 20,000 of the enemy perished! Few biographies of St. Dominic exist in English, but this is by far the best. Incredible!

This book goes beyond the popular surface stories about the saint. History reveals the truth about this great saint -- a truth more impressive than the few miraculous stories that are usually told. You've had the milk, now here's the meat! A surprisingly good read.

Very good bio of St. Dominic and the foundation of the Order of Preachers By Adeste Fideles I highly recommend this text for anyone looking to get a solid and faithful bio of St. Dominic. There is a good deal of information regarding the creation of the Order of Preachers (the Dominicans) and the great Saint's interactions with St. Francis, popes of the time, etc. Anyone interested in Dominic, particularly those considering the Dominican Laity, will enjoy the book.

By kmbd In easy to understand language, Ferraro helps one identify and deal with issues that may be preventing a more abundant life in Christ. The sharing of his own experiences makes one feel less self-conscious about one's own weakness and shortcomings. I particularly appreciate the way he deals with expectations and fear.

Thurman Tony writes about six of the most insidious "sacred cows" in our daily lives and how turning to God will help us be free of these burdens. I have known Tony since he was a child and have watched him grow into the man of God that he is today. His book is an easy read and will help you explore those dark corners of your life that are holding you back.

Different take on a new adult romance By Maria Rose This first collaborative effort between Ruthie Knox and Mary Ann Rivers is a romantic novella (with some interesting psychic ideas) featuring Winnie and Cal. Both in their last year of college they sign up for the Contact Improv class (colloquially known as the 'make out' class), a course that takes twelve people and introduces them to the use of their bodies in theatre. While Cal is a popular, well liked, playboy on campus, Winnie is the opposite - introverted, quiet, studious and generally invisible. But within the confines of the class they connect and what they go into the class with is completely different than what they get out of it. And along the way, they fall in love.This was a very unique story. It's a new adult romance, told from both Winnie and Cal's points of view and in the beginning they are clearly very opposite in character and temperament. Their motives for taking the class are different - for Winnie it's to stretch herself beyond her normal boundaries. For Cal, it's to fool around with whomever is interested (and he's hoping for a lot of action) and then say adios to college and be finally free of its confinement. As the class progresses, they find something called the dark space, a state of being, where they can sense each others thoughts and feelings and they can communicate without words. While the idea of telepathy certainly goes beyond what you would find in a typical new adult story (and will definitely raise a few eyebrows), I found it an interesting way to develop their relationship. You definitely have to keep an open mind as there is a lot of talk about energies, and abstract thoughts on love and acceptance. At the same time however, when the story isn't going off on metaphysical tangents, these two are typical young adults. They have insecurities about the future and they have doubts about themselves and their places in the world. Cal and Winnie's relationships with their parents are a big part of the story, in that sticky place between needing parental reassurance at the same time as wanting to be seen as adults fully capable of making all their own decisions.The sexuality in this story is quite fluid, and there are some scenes with various partners (sometimes in the class, and sometimes not). Unlike other NA stories, there is no overt discussion about being gay or lesbian, rather all sexual relationships are accepted (an ideal state rather than a realistic one). Between Cal and Winnie, the love scenes are very erotic and emotionally charged. Over the course of the story both of them mature and come into their own. Most importantly, they know that their future lies with each other. While some of the ideas were a bit out there for my taste, it was overall an entertaining and interesting story about two people accepting themselves and finding love along the way. 3.5 stars.

1 of 1 people found the following review helpful. Don't Postpone Joy By Kindle Customer This was a different kind of read for me because the sexuality in it is so raw and the characters are as well. But I kept reading because I have always liked the journeys Mary Ann Rivers stories take me. This story, in the end, is no different. It just has a little more of a contemporary telling, so to speak. Through a college coarse called Contact Improv (a class theater majors apparently take to aid them in reaching outside of themselves to project real feelings on stage) the main characters Winnie and Cal meet and fall in love. And not only that, they learn to step outside of themselves, leaving their insecurities behind to live life and to experience joy, love and intimacy with others. I believe it's something we all learn to do while we're living our lives and gaining experience. But didn't you wish you knew Then what you know Now? 'Course you do. For me, Ruthie Knox and Mary Ann Rivers found an incredibly inventive way of illustrating what can happen between two people, and perhaps everyone else one meets, if we could just step outside ourselves, take a risk, leave our self consciousness and insecurities behind and reach out to them. My favorite boss has a bumper sticker I tacked up in our lab that says "Don't Postpone Joy". It became my mantra for our patients as I worked in that office. And the patients responded to it. All of us staff members seemed to have the same goal. Anyway, that's what I felt this book was about. When you step outside yourself and let others in, the possibilities are endless.

Ruthie Knox is one of my favorite authors so I hate giving her this rating but this book was not good. First of all it was only 100 pages but after I got into it was glad that was all because I just wanted to be done with it. The characters were weird and I didn't even like them. They meet in this college class that's suppose to help them find themselves. The next thing they're like able to tell what the other is thinking. There are flash backs and sometimes your not sure if it's present or whe is thinking what. Not only do you get boy and girl flashes you got the boy's mother and her flash backs. I don't even know what that had to do with anything. I have never known any college kid that would act this way. The description of characters made them sound hideous. All I could see where these really ugly people. The ending was dumb and I can't imagine anyone have sex for the first time in a class room with an audience. I was waiting for a new book from Ruthie and this was sure not it.
