By Jodi Muenker This book propelled me back to a very special time years ago when my then teenage daughter tearfully and excitedly related to me her life changing renewal at a church summer camp. What she and others experienced at Silver Cliff Camp with Dennis as her camp pastor is the bedrock of this very compelling book about recognizing idols in our life. As you can imagine, I read this book with a great deal of interest because of my personal involvement and I was not disappointed! God has enabled Dennis to skillfully walk his readers through four steps that God can use to cause us to recognize our idols and find the path of return to Him. Dennis beautifully uses Biblical characters such as Isaiah, Peter, and Josiah to make his points very real and very convicting. His use of questions and pointed illustrations all served to make me painfully and prayerfully aware of how easily idolatry has crept into my life , taken over, and then deprives me of all that Christ wants me to have in my walk with Him. His questions on recognizing unconfessed sin in my life were especially stinging and the chapter on national revival challenged my heart and gave me hope. This time her mission is to help select a mate her charge, Carolyn, on a cruise ship! Oh no. Sarah can barely find her way around on terra firma.Sarah bumbles her instructions and finds herself in a battle of wits with a minion from the evil world. While Carolyn has two suitors, Nick and Ash, Sarah guides Carolyn toward the right one, but not without interference from the minion.Once Carolyn has decided on “Mr. Right”, she is going to meet him on the deck at midnight the last night of the cruise, but something goes wrong and Sarah has to call for reinforcements to thwart off evil.As with the other Sarah books, Ms. Lewis makes his little character lovable and adored. All of her books have an inspirational message, but this one delves deeper into the battles fought with the darker side. Nice job – I loved the cruise aspect and it looks like Sarah will be back.

Ms. Lewis weaves a believable scene of the warfare that takes place in the heavenlies as well as all around us. And Sarah. Oh my, what an adorable, ditzy, little angel that always manages to complete her assignment in an unorthodox manner. Just loved her. This was my first Sarah book, but it certainly won't be the last. Great read with a bonus of Ms. Lewis' wisdom tucked between the covers.

Concise, bittersweet, and stomach-churning, this collection of disgusting, horrifying, and psychological thriller-based zombie stories is the result of a challenge. One night, Kyle Clements and I decided we should write a novella. We came up with the idea of writing stories based on a weekly challenge. Each week, we would send each other a single word, for better or worse. Regardless the word, we had to write at least 1,000 words about the topic. The stories that came out of the challenge are the most terrifying, depraved, sincere, and utterly unreadable works we could have hoped for.
The idea was further based on Edgar Allen Poe's recommendation that a short story should be read within a single sitting. Given society's recent changes in attention span, we realized that 1,000 words in a single sitting would be the best most people could accomplish.
When I introduced the idea to my mother, she was excited until she read the first story. Then she said, "I liked your last work better...." When I sent the novella to our beta readers, their responses were typically a mix between, "This is really great," and "I couldn't finish this story, it was just too disgusting." In the end, I think we adequately accomplished our goal: A challenging read that is both interesting and disgusting at once. It is our hope that you will both enjoy this audiobook and also hate it, yet not demand a refund.

McBroom I don't normally read short stories, however, this one was a very nice surprise collection of horrifying, thrilling and some downright disgusting zombie fiction.This collection includes 20 stories written by Shaun Phelps or Kyle Clements with artwork by Dominique Divine on each story.This compilation of stories was based on a weekly challenge by the authors to develop a story based on one word given by the other author. It is a fun little read when you don't have to time to read a full book.I would not recommend some of these stories to those who have a weak stomach. Those of you who are not squeamish will definitely enjoy them.My favorite story was Christmas Tree it is also the first story in the book. So give this book a chance and check it out.

I love the books that get you so involved with the characters that leave you emotionally a mess when one of them dies. I fell in love with zombie stories way back when with my first movie…The Night of the Living Dead and then when The Walking Dead came out…I was in heaven! Every week I sit glued to my TV engrossed in each scene…waiting to see who will make it out alive. When I’m not watching zombie shows or movies, I am reading zombie books. I also LOVE short stories for those in between times when I just don’t want to get involved in a long book or I don’t have the time to really sit and get into one. Zombie Stories For Those With Short Attention Spans is one of the best…gruesome…bloody and creepy books filled with just what I love! Stories of zombies! The stories in this book will leave you shuddering…sick to your stomach(I wouldn’t suggest eating while reading this book) and might even leave you having nightmares BUT…I would highly recommend reading it if you…like me…LOVE anything and everything zombie!!! Shaun Phelps has quite an imagination with his descriptions of each story…leaving you with deeply disturbing images in your mind. But…THAT is what we zombie fanatics look for right? We want to have the scenes played out in our minds…just as if we were watching it on TV and this my friends is definitely one of those books. Please don’t hesitate to buy it because I know you will love it! You may be disturbed by some of them but in the end…you will be happy that you read them.

Each story is like a small drop of acid, concentrated and crazy, short but packed with hidden senses, some of them are obvious, others are hidden and you Need a litle bitt of time to let them sink in.*****SPOILER ALLERT+++++ I loved Fungus because , really i dont know if in the end the mc turned or not, adored Herpes even if , really nobody wishes Herpes, this kind of Herpes was fun and shows the dark side of the human nature, especially the dark side of the animal called teenager... Well, the Story with the large woman was somehow disgusting, but like a documentary movie that is really nasty you just have to keep watching so i had to keep reading about the human burgers... Some of the Storys are a litle more spiritual, like the one about the father that notices that his son is dead only afther he himself turns into a Zombie, and the one with the baloons that dont rise because the sould is gone, the humans are filled with sins and not even there breath can rise to heaven... I will keep reading, and re reading this stuff because it is just to fun to pass on!

Blurred dreams run scared... the fruits of the eye anchor metaphor run riot, the latter relieved for a day from the plain work of illumination: in her description of the world---maybe it's me, I 'see things'... as though I were touring a lovely, old, abandoned house, and casually told of the crimes witnessed there---perhaps I see too many things, real or unreal, no difference, no point, too many. In the freighted names of ordinary townsfolk, dead singers, guilt-ridden writers in mismatched bodies in mismatched affections, a tormenting slit in a dress, unwanted obsession, a ghoul with a pastry in his pocket ("He always thought of her."), a parade, a small team of hapless humanity. A travesty of fate and affection. But is it one, two, three or more persons in one body?But these lives---or life---because at times one wonders if the same person----girl/woman---has not been slit asunder at the stitches of her life, parts on display and trial, only half surviving... make for a better story than, say, Wilder's famous little meditation on the lives of seemingly random travellers come together on an ancient, doomed bridge. The Bridge of San Luis Rey was less psychologically liquid than Farrell's. At the end of that book, the Abbess observes: "There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning." The bridge falls, the house burns... the river runs on. For all its predictability, no one is "professional" at fate. The Amateur is fine literary pastry, a Bismarck pregnant with sweet and bitter secrets.
