About the Author Raymond E. Parry is a graduate of Case Western Reserve University and Bethel Theological Seminary. He is an ordained American Baptist pastor and has taught adult education at First Presbyterian Church of Colorado Springs for over 20 years. His recent book, “Love, Marriage, Divorce, and Remarriage” has helped many understand what the Bible really says about those important life issues. Ray and his wife Pegi live in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains near Woodland Park, CO.

A Deeper Understanding of Revelation By Kelly Townsend This book is a great combination of relevant scripture, the author's own personal thoughts and anecdotes, and ideas drawn from numerous commentaries. Interpretations are thoroughly explained with many scriptural references drawn from Daniel, Isaiah, Jeremiah, John Hosea, Ezekiel, Zechariah and others. Ray Parry uses modern analogies and anecdotes to picture where John is coming from as he wrote Revelation. He attempts to organize and make sense out of the prophecy in Revelation by offering his own interpretive chart (the"Structure of Revelation" chart on page 86). The short introductions for each chapter were extremely valuable in preparing the reader for the scriptural text; as well as the dispersal of interesting facts and the influence of the Jewish culture, at that time, on the writing of Revelation. Another helpful characteristic of the book are the study questions found not only in the text but also found at the opportune points in the text. The art work by Ray's wife Pegi was an added plus that enhanced the understanding of the story and glory of Revelation. I would highly recommend this book for those who are looking for a new way of looking at one of the most important books in the Bible.
