This time her mission is to help select a mate her charge, Carolyn, on a cruise ship! Oh no. Sarah can barely find her way around on terra firma.Sarah bumbles her instructions and finds herself in a battle of wits with a minion from the evil world. While Carolyn has two suitors, Nick and Ash, Sarah guides Carolyn toward the right one, but not without interference from the minion.Once Carolyn has decided on “Mr. Right”, she is going to meet him on the deck at midnight the last night of the cruise, but something goes wrong and Sarah has to call for reinforcements to thwart off evil.As with the other Sarah books, Ms. Lewis makes his little character lovable and adored. All of her books have an inspirational message, but this one delves deeper into the battles fought with the darker side. Nice job – I loved the cruise aspect and it looks like Sarah will be back.

Ms. Lewis weaves a believable scene of the warfare that takes place in the heavenlies as well as all around us. And Sarah. Oh my, what an adorable, ditzy, little angel that always manages to complete her assignment in an unorthodox manner. Just loved her. This was my first Sarah book, but it certainly won't be the last. Great read with a bonus of Ms. Lewis' wisdom tucked between the covers.

I really enjoyed Sarah's attempts to find Carolyn a husband. Sarah's bumbling ways kept me in stitches. I also enjoyed the spiritual truths contained in this book. In my opinion, this story is a winner. I enjoyed it, and I will read it again.

A collection of short, disgusting, and mentally disturbed zombie stories for the Internet age. Concise, bittersweet, and stomach-churning, this collection of disgusting, horrifying, and psychological thriller-based zombie stories is the result of a challenge. One night, Kyle Clements and I decided we should write a novella. We came up with the idea of writing stories based on a weekly challenge. Each week, we would send each other a single word, for better or worse. Regardless the word, we had to write at least 1,000 words about the topic. The stories that came out of the challenge are the most terrifying, depraved, sincere, and utterly unreadable works we could have hoped for.

The idea was further based on Edgar Allen Poe's recommendation that a short story should be read within a single sitting. Given society's recent changes in attention span, we realized that 1,000 words in a single sitting would be the best most people could accomplish.

When I introduced the idea to my mother, she was excited until she read the first story. Then she said, "I liked your last work better...." When I sent the novella to our beta readers, their responses were typically a mix between, "This is really great," and "I couldn't finish this story, it was just too disgusting." In the end, I think we adequately accomplished our goal: A challenging read that is both interesting and disgusting at once. It is our hope that you will both enjoy this audiobook and also hate it, yet not demand a refund.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. horrorgeeksmagazine.com review By R. McBroom I don't normally read short stories, however, this one was a very nice surprise collection of horrifying, thrilling and some downright disgusting zombie fiction. This collection includes 20 stories written by Shaun Phelps or Kyle Clements with artwork by Dominique Divine on each story. This compilation of stories was based on a weekly challenge by the authors to develop a story based on one word given by the other author. It is a fun little read when you don't have to time to read a full book.I would not recommend some of these stories to those who have a weak stomach. Those of you who are not squeamish will definitely enjoy them.My favorite story was Christmas Tree it is also the first story in the book. So give this book a chance and check it out.

4 of 4 people found the following review helpful. Gruesomely amazing! Loved it!!! By Denise Keef I LOVE zombie stories! I love the books that get you so involved with the characters that leave you emotionally a mess when one of them dies. I fell in love with zombie stories way back when with my first movie…The Night of the Living Dead and then when The Walking Dead came out…I was in heaven! Every week I sit glued to my TV engrossed in each scene…waiting to see who will make it out alive. When I’m not watching zombie shows or movies, I am reading zombie books. I also LOVE short stories for those in between times when I just don’t want to get involved in a long book or I don’t have the time to really sit and get into one. Zombie Stories For Those With Short Attention Spans is one of the best…gruesome…bloody and creepy books filled with just what I love! Stories of zombies! The stories in this book will leave you shuddering…sick to your stomach(I wouldn’t suggest eating while reading this book) and might even leave you having nightmares BUT…I would highly recommend reading it if you…like me…LOVE anything and everything zombie!!! Shaun Phelps has quite an imagination with his descriptions of each story…leaving you with deeply disturbing images in your mind. But…THAT is what we zombie fanatics look for right? We want to have the scenes played out in our minds…just as if we were watching it on TV and this my friends is definitely one of those books. Please don’t hesitate to buy it because I know you will love it! You may be disturbed by some of them but in the end…you will be happy that you read them.

Each story is like a small drop of acid concentrated and crazy By alina harajuku zombie I already read more than the half of this book and honestly i could not wait to sit down and write a fast Review, because, People. if you like Zombies, you have to read this, you dont know what you are missing! Each story is like a small drop of acid, concentrated and crazy, short but packed with hidden senses, some of them are obvious, others are hidden and you Need a litle bitt of time to let them sink in.*****SPOILER ALLERT+++++ I loved Fungus because , really i dont know if in the end the mc turned or not, adored Herpes even if , really nobody wishes Herpes, this kind of Herpes was fun and shows the dark side of the human nature, especially the dark side of the animal called teenager... Well, the Story with the large woman was somehow disgusting, but like a documentary movie that is really nasty you just have to keep watching so i had to keep reading about the human burgers... Some of the Storys are a litle more spiritual, like the one about the father that notices that his son is dead only afther he himself turns into a Zombie, and the one with the baloons that dont rise because the sould is gone, the humans are filled with sins and not even there breath can rise to heaven... I will keep reading, and re reading this stuff because it is just to fun to pass on!

“One arrives like spittle landing: an emptiness that clings.”

Say you weren't of this world but wanted to be...what would you give, how would you know you'd arrived?

Lily is an outsider who'll do anything to get in...Francis Steerlock, a middle-aged drifter with a ready smile, hides a hopeless obsession...Sonia, a young hitch-hiker, challenges Francis in an elaborate game of hide-and-seek... elderly Mrs. Stoppit, riven by loneliness, develops an ominous condition...Queenie's pre-adolescent fascination with the elusive Sonia leads her—and her little brother Tick—across the safe borders of childhood.

When these half-dozen strangers, with best intentions, take an unexpected route to the worst that can happen, cross-currents of truth and desire, body and soul, obligation and ignorance, self and other, demand a reckoning. Startling and luminous, cut with metaphysical wit, the Amateur tracks this expedition into the gist of what it may cost—for better and worse—to be human.

“Fluh-dump, goes the heart. Fluh-dump. It's not as simple as it looks.”

Luno A writer is good when she can break your heart on every page and you can't, for all that, bailout of finishing her book... Nothing escapes Farrell's awake eye. Blurred dreams run scared... the fruits of the eye anchor metaphor run riot, the latter relieved for a day from the plain work of illumination: in her description of the world---maybe it's me, I 'see things'... as though I were touring a lovely, old, abandoned house, and casually told of the crimes witnessed there---perhaps I see too many things, real or unreal, no difference, no point, too many. In the freighted names of ordinary townsfolk, dead singers, guilt-ridden writers in mismatched bodies in mismatched affections, a tormenting slit in a dress, unwanted obsession, a ghoul with a pastry in his pocket ("He always thought of her."), a parade, a small team of hapless humanity. A travesty of fate and affection. But is it one, two, three or more persons in one body? But these lives---or life---because at times one wonders if the same person----girl/woman---has not been slit asunder at the stitches of her life, parts on display and trial, only half surviving... make for a better story than, say, Wilder's famous little meditation on the lives of seemingly random travellers come together on an ancient, doomed bridge. The Bridge of San Luis Rey was less psychologically liquid than Farrell's. At the end of that book, the Abbess observes: "There is a land of the living and a land of the dead and the bridge is love, the only survival, the only meaning." The bridge falls, the house burns... the river runs on. For all its predictability, no one is "professional" at fate. The Amateur is fine literary pastry, a Bismarck pregnant with sweet and bitter secrets.

"What I feel has no name..." Suanne Laqueur's award-winning debut novel The Man I Love thrilled readers with its memorable characters and depth of emotion. Erik Fiskare's journey of love, recovery and forgiveness captivated hearts but also left questions unanswered. Now Daisy Bianco has a chance to tell her story. It's been three years since a single lapse of judgment cost Daisy the love of her life. Erik was a conduit to her soul but now he's chosen a path of total disconnection, refusing to speak to her or acknowledge her betrayal. Alone and shattered, Daisy attempts to take responsibility for her actions while building her career as a professional dancer in New York City. But Erik's unforgiving estrangement proves too much for her strength. Plagued by flashbacks to the Lancaster shootings, she falls into a dangerous spiral of self-harm, cutting into her own skin as a means to atone. Only the timely appearance of an old friend, John "Opie" Quillis, saves her from self-destruction and gives her a chance to love again. Laqueur skillfully weaves flashbacks to the college years with Daisy's present life. Supported by John's patient affection, she works to separate her evolution as an adult from the unresolved guilt and grief of her youth. As her professional accomplishments lift her out of depression, Daisy learns to hold onto her accountability without letting it become her identity. Years pass and she builds a beautiful life filled with dance and friends. Lovers come and eventually go, leaving her on her own with the old thought: Come back to me. In this parallel narrative, Laqueur peels open the beloved characters from The Man I Love to reveal new and complex layers of vulnerability. The scars from the shooting are deep and pervasive within this circle of friends. Like Daisy, they are trying to evolve without being fully resolved. But when questions from the past go unheeded, you alone must find and give your answers true.

Give Me Your Answer True (The Fish Tales Book 2), by Suanne Laqueur

Review "One doesn't read Laqueur's novels, you experience them... These characters are like people I know and I'm not going to forget them any time soon." --Emma Scott, author of RUSH "Laqueur crafts these characters and knows their ins and outs and bones and blood so well. As readers, we are sucked into their lives. We feel what they feel. We ache when they ache. We cry when they cry. And we miss them desperately when the story is over. This is the gift Laqueur has given to us with her writing." --Mary Frame, author of Imperfect Chemistry and Imperfectly Criminal "Laqueur has a way of getting to the essence of a scene or character with just a few words carefully placed. They're gorgeous and sad filled with hope and hopelessness and fully intent on drawing you in. Give Me Your Answer True is the kind of book you think about long after it's over..." --Kayti Nika Raet, author of The Monster Chronicles "Five stars. Give Me Your Answer True is further affirmation that Suanne Laqueur is a truly gifted writer and knows how to create lasting memory through her superb storytelling ability." --Diane Lunsford, Feathered Quill Book Reviews

Her ability to ferret emotions, depict extreme mental images along with her expert writing creates a spellbinding narrative accompanied by gripping characters.GMYT focuses on Daisy Bianco along with Opie, Lucky and Will. We discover Daisy's anguish over the traumatic incident and her broken relationship with Erik. A retelling but yet very different as we revisit events thru Daisy's eyes and heart. The struggles are affecting, the scars heartbreaking as we recall and recap the irrevocable ordeal and forced changes all involved suffered. Their recovery is plausible and touching.Laqueur manages to address heavy hitting delicate topics with ease and respectability. I admire her for deftly bringing taboo topics to a wide audience spreading awareness. She explores the challenges such issues present as well as the surviving of trauma and the pain of dealing with these hard hitting issues on an ongoing basis. Healing and its difficulty brought to the forefront.Amazing narrative, the emotional hold both narrative and characters possess over the reader is unbelievable. You are fully invested in these characters as they are faced with a horrific incident forever changing their lives, you cheer their progress and you celebrate their recovery. Memorable in every way imaginable.

5 of 5 people found the following review helpful. A Beautiful story of innocence lost, heartache and despair, discovery of one’s self and being true to yourself. By Tamara B. In Suanne Laqueur’s first novel, The Man I love, we read the story from Erik’s point of view and what a story it was – I loved every minute of it. Truth be told, I was somewhat reluctant to read the author’s newest novel, Give Me Your Answer True because this time it’s told from Daisy’s point of view and I was quite afraid it was going to be the same story with just some minor changes. My fear was for nothing though as this story is far from the same. This new perspective gives a truly epic story even more depth as we take this journey with Daisy. Give Me Your Answer True is an absolutely beautiful story that flows as effortlessly as a well-choreographed dance. I was majorly impressed with the author’s debut novel, but with her second novel, I am just simply astounded at the talent she has. If I had to sum up Ms. Laqueur’s talent and ability to tell a story in just one word it would have to be perfection. This is Daisy’s side of the story – her words - and is at first told via flashbacks as she is talking with her therapist, Rita – trying to remember the buried memories of that tragic day in April and working through her issues with not only Erik but other things that have plagued her with despair and hopelessness – the need to hurt, the need for pain. Once the past catches up to the present, Rita really starts to dig into the ‘why’ of everything and helping Daisy deal with her post-traumatic stress disorder and her experience with self-harming. After discovering the root of her emotional problems, it was a pure joy to ‘see’ Daisy blossoming into the happy person she deserved to be.I feel that this way of retelling the story really worked as I had a better and deeper understanding of Daisy and the other supporting characters within the story. I actually felt the love, the despair and the heartache in Daisy’s words as the story unfolded. The many layers of the complex characters are peeled away and the reader gets to see the rawness, the vulnerability, the flaws and the beauty of each individual person and every incident that makes this story an amazing showcase of brilliant, effortless and beautiful writing. I must also mention that even though I knew the ending of this story, this time around I found the experience much more fulfilling and my heart is happy due to having a greater connection with Daisy and getting to know her more through the poetic and beautiful words that make this a truly epic and awe-inspiring story.Give Me Your Answer True is more than just a love story. It is also a story of innocence lost, heartache and despair, discovery of one’s self and being true to yourself. From true love, to the loss of friends due to do a horrific act of hate and the need to feel again through pain, to forgiveness, this story will grab you and forever haunt you and stay within your heart even when the last sentence has been read.

3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. I hesitated to read this but am so glad that I did By Michelle After reading The Man I Love, I put off reading Give Me Your Answer True on purpose. I felt like the wounds of Erik's story were still too fresh and had just barely scabbed over and I was nowhere near ready to re-open them through Daisy's POV. Well, rest assure, the author grants the reader a huge reprieve from anxiety buildup by inserting the main nail-in-the-coffin incident that drove Erik and Daisy apart right away in the book's beginning, thus ripping open the bandaid and getting it over with. Having that part out of the way allowed me to concentrate on Daisy the person, and not Daisy the perpetrator. I didn't know if I wanted to forgive her because I truly couldn't blame Erik for cutting her off the way he did and thought she earned her spot in purgatory. Reading this really gave me a different and more open view afterwards and while I thoroughly enjoyed The Man I Love, Give Me Your Answer True had me glued to the pages even more so. The writing is so compelling. And not only is this book about Daisy, but it also provides enormous insight to the rest of the gang whom Erik had cut himself off from after his departure from Lancaster - Will, Lucky, John, David and James, because I was definitely curious about them, too. Erik's POV alone does not give enough of a full picture of those other characters. Lingering questions about them are answered in this book. Before things fell apart, Daisy was this very calm, controlled and coordinated person with the utmost grace and poise. She's direct, but also diplomatic. She doesn't try to hide anything and she views life with a fresh perspective. I adored her capability of handling sticky social situations and her ability to trust so freely and open generosity. I loved her relationship with Erik and what they shared with one another. So why did she do what she did? I have been mulling over that ever since The Man I Love and my personal conclusion is simply that Daisy, the over analyst and perpetual thinker, chose a singular moment to cease all thinking and let the moment play itself out on its own and lose a bit of control. Yes, she was externally influenced so her judgment might have been partially impaired, she was numb and seeking to feel and to escape temporarily. After the trauma she endured, I can understand that. But still, it doesn't excuse her actions.Watching Daisy fall so far into rock bottom and slowly climb her way back up gave me a newfound understanding for her true strength and resilience. She never blamed anyone but herself and she took complete ownership of her actions. Not many people can take full accountability like that. She sought help and forced herself to look inwardly. And even when Erik froze her out, she didn't hate him in return despite the constant craving for closure. I didn't realize the depth of Erik's punishment until I experienced it through Daisy. However, she punished herself ten fold more. Sure, the theater incident was the catalyst for everyone getting lost and was subsequently followed by them all completely disintegrating within their identities as no one knew the appropriate way to cope afterwards, thus spiraling further downhill. Little by little, Daisy earned my respect again even though that one moment in time cannot ever be erased or rewound, but she made good on her word of fixing the situation with the leftover pieces she was given to pick up after suffering the severe consequences. The timeline for this is parallel to The Man I Love and by the time Erik reappears in the book, I could more fully appreciate how they were achieving their much needed closure and hopefully getting ready for a new adventure together.
