Hijacked (Chronicles of the 23rd Century By Pam Fitros, author of Boldly Bald Women This book reminded me of an episode of the early Star Trek series. In the Star Trek programs each segment allow for a little more development of main characters. After watching many episodes, we knew the characters well.In Chronicles, we get a glimpse of who the characters are but not enough to feel acquainted. More background on the colonization of the planets in our solar system would have been helpful to really set the stage convincingly. Although the book was okay, my hunch is it would make a terrific television series.

The Wild West meets Space and it is done well By A Partent While applying the Western literally style to science fiction is nothing new, the author has developed a background tapestry that combines the two in such a manner that the reader easily engages in the story without realizing the underlying themes; brilliant really. Normally I am not a fan of short sterilizer stories, but I am looking forward to what this author writes in the future.

What seemed to me a very good and enduring character turned out not to be so enduring after all, I was a bit stunned! No spoilers even though this book is free, you still have to go and see for yourself.Yes it is a little short, but many first of series are free and often short (not always), which does not mean the story isn't good. I think Paul J Fleming has done an excellent job here, even if I'm not sure the main character was all that much of a "good guy" in this one. (no spoilers)
