About the Author Jon Sobrino, a Spanish-born Jesuit theologian, has spent the past 50 years in El Salvador. He is the author of many works, including the award-winning 2-volume Christology, "Jesus the Liberator," as well as "Where is God?: Earthquake, Terrorism, Barbarity, and Hope," and Witnesses to the Kingdom: The Martyrs of El Salvador and the Cricified Peoples."Burns was educated at Ampleforth College and The Queen's College, Oxford, where he gained a first-class degree in modern languages.

Kelley If you have read Sobrino's "Jesus the Liberator" you are in for a surprise is his new book "Christ the Liberator." It is a more accessible book for a fundamental theology than "Jesus the Liberator." I would call it a MUST READ for anyone working in or thinking about theology. It is also so clearly written and clearly translated that it is suitable for the general reader.
