I could have done without the "fat" bashing from his mother. At least he stood up for her and got onto his mom. Of course she shouldn't have felt singled out too much considering shes never been nice to his other girlfriends either. I have to say as characters go Alan was really sweet and genuine. With all he had to deal with and the crap storm from an ex he handled it pretty good. It was nice to know that he wouldn't give up Clair no matter what. I have to admit sometimes Clair annoyed me with her negative feelings sometimes but she's really smart and funny. I did like her but her body image issues could be an issue and her people issues. She's always dealt with her robotics and not many people and I think being forced to is a good thing. Alan will be good for her. It ended on a HEA.
0 of 0 people found the following review helpful. Great sequel to a wonderful story of a curvy geek and her hunky baseball player!! By LRC I fell in love with Clair and Alan in their first book. Clair's mathematical model analysis of Alan's baseball swing gives him the tie of 'never miss' and shoots him up to the Pros. They are a couple and Alan talks about marriage but Clair seems afraid to commit because she may still fe she's too fat for him. They visit his mother who also seems to think Clair's not thin enough for him. An ex girlfriend accuses him of leaving her pregnant an d tries to break up his life with Clair. Will Clair fight or give up? What do you think? I loved this book and the geeky, quirky heroine! (Oh and also loved the hunky boyfriend!)

Just because Clair got the hot guy at the end of book 1, her struggles are far from over. A ex with an agenda, a disapproving mom, and questions about her future with Alan are just some of the obstacles Clair faces in book 2. As in book 1, Clair is a well developed character whose insecurities about her weight are balanced with intelligence and keen insight into those around her who would try to tear her down. And again, the sex scenes are HOT!!! Excellent story, bring on part 3!
