About the Author Before she could write structured sentences, Sharon Livingstone narrated and cassette recorded an adventurous tale of some tongs, a dishmop, a pair of scissors and a spatula. The stories range from the everyday to the cosmic and throughout all of them they are presented very well, with excellent descriptions. In fact it is Livingstone's descriptive ability that carries this book. She is able to convey so much with simply a very judicial choice in words. Often this descriptive ability is verily Joycean in its originality. The characters are similarly drawn well, with just a few choice pen strokes creating real, likeable, and engaging characters. Another great thing about this book is that since each story is so short it's easy to read 'just one more.' This enticing aspect, for me, was so strong that I was very sad at having to finish it. Give us another collection, Sharon, we want more, we want more! Anyway, this book is a real gem amongst the annals of flash fiction works and I highly recommend it.

Then a few pages later you're standing on a busy street feeling the isolation of a modern city. And on it goes, through sweaty sports club rooms, war zones and rural towns. Each story is superbly crafted and so easy to read that you just keep turning the pages. Great ride.
