Storyline was great as was the characters By M.Fields This was my first book I have read by Cantore, but it will not be my last.Storyline was great as was the characters, the characters are real and you just want to stay in the pages for ever. The book did however need to be longer I hated to see it end.Suspense's are so good when written by someone who knows what they are doing.I gave this book 4.5 stars. I can't wait for book two in this series now.I was given a copy of this book by the publisher for my honest review.

Female Cop Determines to Find Parents' Killer By Conny Title: Drawing FireAuthor: Janice CantorePublisher: Tyndale House Publishers, Inc.ISBN: 978-1-4143-9668-1“I won’t be able to feel the forgiveness. Not as long as the killers evade justice. How do you forgive a monster? Especially when the monster has never paid for his crime,” Abby considers in Janice Cantore’s novel, Drawing Fire.First in the Cold Case Justice series, this four hundred and sixteen page paperback targets those that enjoy Christian suspense with romance. With no profanity, topics of murder and death may not be appropriate for immature readers. The King James, New King James, and New International Versions of the Holy Bible are referenced. A teaser for the next book, the prologue of a prior novel, the author’s biography, and a dozen discussion questions complete the book.In this current-day story, thirty-three-year-old Abby Hart is a homicide investigator in Long Beach, California. Unable to forget her parents’ murders when she was six-years-old, she is determined to find the killer even though it is the biggest unsolved case in the department. When another elderly woman is murdered locally, Abby steps in, only to clash with Luke Murphy, a thirty-five-year-old private investigator who is known for his arrogant showmanship. Unknown to her initially, Luke is a widowed father who is a youth pastor that helps lost and wayward teens. With Luke having ties to the death of Abby’s parents, they join forces without the approval of the LBPD to uncover the past. Getting the governor involved with the recent serial killing of the elderly opens more questions of why Abby’s parents died.As the policewoman considers her fiancée’s advice, she feels romantic sparks growing between Luke and herself. As the two have more in common than they realize, they face learning forgiveness so that revenge will not overtake their lives.Written with well-developed characters and plenty of loose ends, this first book in the series takes a cold case in police records and turns it active through persistence and devotion to learning the truth. This is the sixth novel by author Cantore, a retired police officer with twenty-two years’ experience working with the Long Beach Police Department. Having worked a variety of assignments such as patrol, administration, juvenile investigations, and training, she brings a plethora of police scenarios to her writing. This book was furnished by Tyndale House Publishers in exchange for a review based on the reader’s honest opinion.
