About the Author David Haight was born and raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota. He was educated at Hamline University where he recieved a degree in English and Philosophy and later an MFA in writing where he was distingished by the Quay W. Grigg award in Literary Study. He published his first novel Overdrive in 2006, his second, Me and Mrs. Jones in 2012 and recently published his first collection of short stories, Lemon.He is inspired most by writers James Joyce, Ernest Hemingway, Richard Yates, John Cheever, Arthur Rimbaud, and Friedrich Nietzsche. He lives in the Twin Cities.

A delicious collection of short stories about complex lives By Gary David Haight's Lemon is a thought-provoking and ultra engaging set of short stories. Mr. Haight manages to hook the reader very quickly into the often tragic storylines and have you start caring about the characters, despite their human flaws. The characters may cause you to wince at times and yet their situations will resonate with you on a very deep and emotional level. This is an an excellent collection of glimpses into these complex lives.

It challenges your moral compass, yet the topics addressed aren't gratuitous in nature. They're the type of perplexing tales yielding the sweetest fruit in an otherwise sour garden.
