CAN THE BEST WAY TO KEEP A SECRET... Jolie Carter carries secrets from a past she doesn’t want revealed. Her friends know nothing of that time or why she moved to town and she wants to keep it that way. But Nathan Quinn is on to her and while his interest is flattering, she pushes him away out of deep-seated fear. What would he think of her if he knew the truth? Sometimes she isn’t sure God has forgiven her because she certainly hasn’t forgiven herself. BE TO SET IT FREE? Nathan Quinn is battle-scarred and tough-as-nails. Maybe that’s why he sees through Jolie’s lies and attempts to evade questions. He’s been there, and he recognizes the look in her eyes. The pain of whatever she’s hiding is eating her up inside and he can no longer ignore it. But after he learns the truth, Quinn must fight the biggest battle of his life if he hopes to win the woman he loves. Forgiveness is never easy, especially when it hurts the very woman he can’t bear to live without. The Stone River series continues with THROUGH THE VALLEY. *** Söldnerhelden. About the Author Kay Lyons Stockham always wanted to be a writer, ever since the age of seven or eight when she copied the pictures out of a Charlie Brown book and rewrote the story because she didn’t like the plot. Through the years her stories have changed but one characteristic stayed true—they were all romances. Each and every one of her manuscripts included a love story. Published in 2005 with Harlequin Enterprises, Kay’s first title hit #7 on the bestseller list. Kay has also been a HOLT Medallion, Book Buyers Best and RITA Award nominee with approximately twenty books published in the secular fiction market. In 2014, Kay lost her beloved father—true hero material—at the age of 85. In the months before and after his death life continued to throw some pretty radical curve balls, leaving Kay struggling to find her creativity and relying heavily on her faith to see her through the valleys. Reading the Bible brought comfort and in the fall of 2014, Kay rededicated her life to Christ. Her goals changed and her desire to be a source of light and encouragement to her family, her church, and her readers, stirred the creativity within her to use her God-given talent to spread His word. To distinguish her secular books from her inspirational novels, Kay took on her maiden name in honor of her father and the inspiration he was as a loving husband of 60 years, a dedicated father, and most importantly, a man of faith. 3 of 3 people found the following review helpful. Best Christian Series I have read in a very long time. By Laurie Nelson I LOVE this series so far. I read this one in under a week. Finally Christian Fiction that is not full of fluff. It has real life issues and how God can heal people from those issues. Thank you so much, Kay for writing this series. I can't wait to read more!

2 of 2 people found the following review helpful. Excellent. By Margaret Keilholz This book pulled me in from the beginning. I felt for Jolie and her horrible past. Quinn was a strong Christian hero that honored his love for Jolie and helped her face her past and overcome it.
